OMG - I saw these things at Target the other day and thought "Oh no! Another stick to torture ourselves with!". Although, depending on their accuracy, I think they could be quite helpful to someone who is just starting on this infertility hell highway...i.e. a catalyst in the initial step to see a RE sooner rather than later.
If you do decide to use them, I hope they are helpful to you and not torture like those other evil sticks.
I can't believe it! I don't like the scary message on it that toys with women's emotions about being able to get pregnant. Stupid. But overall, your gyne can do the same test with insurance coverage. how much is this special test anyway?
I highly doubt the accuracy of those things. I am convinced the peestick industry is a vast conspiracy designed to suck fat duckets of cash from nervous and worrying women everywhere. Death to peesticks!
Does this work if you're on BCP? I'm not looking forward to my FSH results (funny I didn't even have to do a day 3 test I guess it's a well, your doing surrogacy so you're already f*ed so who cares what the FSH is). Who knows? I have faith.
Thanks for sharing this. I'm going to ask my RE whether she's heard of this - I'd be very interested to know how accurate they are. I really don't like having to drag myself to the lab every time my period is so many days past and get stuck with needles and then wait for the verdict (and after insurance it's still $50/test - I bet the sticks aren't that much). So I find this really interesting.
You know your RE can monitor that for you. It's much more accurate and useful when you get a level, not just "high" or "low."
I'm with onwardandsideways. Whenever I see another thing to buy I'm thinking, "Oh so YOU want a piece of this too?"
Just one more way too expensive peestick to fear...... (=

I read your Phoebe facts - and totally empathize with your depression and anxiety issues. My husband battled back depression and anxiety through a lot of hard work and some great doctors he is on the mend. I didn't even realize how sick he was until he started to get better - if that makes any sense.
